This week, lawyers for former President Jair Bolsonaro filed a request with Justice Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court. The request concerns the former president’s health condition, as he is currently under house arrest.
According to the request, Bolsonaro may require further surgery. The procedures are reportedly simple and involve the removal of skin lesions. The request bears the signature of Claudio Birolini, head of the surgical team at DF Star Hospital in Brasília.

The document also states that Bolsonaro has “small, regular brown spots on his skin” that need to be removed. According to CNN Brasil’s findings, the document mentions “excision and suturing of a hemangioma, lymphangioma, or nevus.”

According to the request, the material still needs to undergo clinical analysis to determine whether the lesions correspond to a malignant tumor, or whether they are benign lesions.
Bolsonaro is currently serving house arrest at his home in Brasília. If the request is approved, Bolsonaro will likely undergo the procedure next Sunday (September 14th). Before then, the trial regarding the coup plot will have already concluded.

This means Bolsonaro will already know whether he will be convicted or not. Besides him, other defendants will also have their fates determined by Friday (September 12th) of this week. The procedure will be performed at the same DF Star Hospital, where Bolsonaro has been hospitalized before, and does not require hospitalization.
In other words, according to the request, Bolsonaro must be admitted to the hospital, undergo the procedure, and leave the hospital the same day. The former president would then return home to serve his sentence under house arrest.
